CHRISTOPHE CLARET
A lyon, enfant, Christophe Claret joue à démonter et remonter des mouvements d’horloges. A seize ans, il part se former à l’Ecole d’horlogerie de Genève, puis chez un cabinotier expert en complications. Quand il devient son propre maître, il restaure des montres de collection et crée ses premiers mouvements. A la foire de Bâle 1987, il reçoit une importante commande pour des mouvements à répétition minute et jaquemart; il crée alors sa société.

Harry Winston, "le bijoutier des stars", a porté à son plus haut degré la passion de l'exceptionnel et de la recherche esthétique. En créant la collection de montres rares opus (un modèle exclusif en série très limitée chaque année), ses successeurs ont transposé dans le monde de l'horlogerie les valeurs ancrées dans la marque.
Concepteur et constructeur du mouvement pour l'année 2004, christophe claret a recherché l'extrème exclusivité, l'extrème complication, le plus grand raffinement dans l'exécution et les finitions.
Opus 4 est un calibre avec aiguillage des deux côtés, totalement réversible grâce à un système de rotation du bracelet.
Sa face "technique" présente un tourbillon assorti d'une répétition heures, quart et minutes à timbre cathédrale.
Sa face "romantique" expose un disque de grande lune en or blanc 18 carats gravé main, accompagné d'un quantième.
Ce garde-temps d'exception comprend 423 composants dont 40 saphirs, assemblé par un mème horloger. le timbre cathédrale, ample et grave, accordé patiemment à la lime et à l'oreille, fait deux fois le tour du mouvement au lieu d'un pour les exécutions habituelles. Le grand diamètre de la boîte en platine (44 mm) contribue à faire résonner cet instrument de manière optimale.

Le mouvement tourbillon Zéphyr est une pièce d'une grande pureté où la transparence de la platine, des ponts et de la boîte laisse entrevoir l'âme du mouvement. Le tourbillon semble flotter dans son précieux écrin et le jeu des diamants qui s'animent au remontage nous donne en spectacle toute la magie de cette pièce.
CREATIONS - JEAN DUNAND - GRANDE COMPLICATION
Cette montre réunit quatre des plus grandes complications horlogères, soit : la répétition heures, quarts et minutes, le tourbillon, le chronographe avec rattrapante et isolateur, le quantième perpétuel bi-rétrograde. L'alliance de tous ces éléments de manière intégrée apporte tout l'exceptionnel à ce produit qui est cité comme l'une des montres les plus compliquée au monde.

Tourbillon volant d’une minute effectuant un tour de cadran par heure (déplacement orbital autour du centre de la montre). Réserve de marche latérale, remontage, mise à l’heure et phases de lune à l’arrière de la montre. (Mouvement breveté)

La Shabaka est une véritable prouesse technologique qui comprend une répétition minute sur timbres cathédrale, un calendrier perpétuel complet à saut instantané muni d'un affichage unique et totalement inédit, les phases de lune, ainsi qu'un très ingénieux indicateur d'armage.

LA MANUFACTURE - DU MOUVEMENT IMAGINÉ AU MOUVEMENT PENSÉ
Tout part de la page blanche, d’une idée. Puis viennent le minutieux travail de conception et de construction, les plans de fabrication et de montage, avec une méticuleuse organisation logistique et les multiples contrôles qui accompagnent le dévelop-pement du calibre jusqu’aux ateliers. L’axe de travail ne passe pas par un prototype: il suit une ligne directe vers la réalisation d’un premier mouvement qui devient tête de série.

Christophe Claret fait appel à l’expertise de micro-mécaniciens d’élite, aux forces vives d’une région où se perpétuent un grand savoir-faire horloger, une culture de la miniaturisation et de la haute précision. Chacun témoigne à son poste d’un fort engagement, tant professionnel que personnel; les responsables de fabrication font autorité dans leurs spécialités et manifestent une passion communicative pour les microtechniques.
LA MANUFACTURE - L'INTELLIGENCE, LE REGARD, LE DOIGTÉ
Le montage des mouvements s’effectue au sein de plusieurs petits ateliers qu’occupent chacun quatre à sept horlogers-rhabilleurs, l’aristocratie de la profession. Durant ses trois à douze premiers mois chez Christophe Claret, chacun apprend les tours de main et des techniques qui ne sont enseignés nulle part ailleurs.

Séries limitées et pièces uniques: étoile filante et deux gmt à guichet... répétition minutes, tourbillon, westminster... quantièmes perpétuels... mécanismes à musique... grande sonnerie planétaire westminster tourbillon..., et de nombreuses autres réalisations, dont plusieurs premières mondiales chaque année.
LA MANUFACTURE - DANS LE CERCLE RESTREINT DES VÉRITABLES MANUFACTURES D'HORLOGERIE
Pour accéder à une autonomie complète, Christophe Claret a créé ses propres ateliers, tous installés sur le site du Soleil d’or, où sont exécutés la totalité des travaux d’usinage, de finition, de montage. Même la galvanoplastie, apanage de la sous-traitance, est réalisée sur place. Très rare dans le monde horloger, cette intégration verticale est le propre d’une authentique manufacture.

Des pièces de haute précision, des mécanismes de rêve, un fonctionnement parfait... Ce n’est pas encore un mouvement signé Christophe Claret !
L’art du polissage, le jeu des matières et des reflets, le parachèvement des surfaces et des formes, le décor, vont conférer au mouvement toute sa plénitude esthétique.
LE SOLEIL D'OR
Ici naissent des mouvements d’une complexité si rare qu’ils semblent renfermer tous les secrets de l’horlogerie... Le “Manoir du Soleil d’or” fut bâti par l'illustre horloger danois Urban Jürgensen pour sa petite fille. Cette demeure a conservé ses trésors: boiseries et parquets faits d’essences nobles, poêle monumental à carreaux peints à la main... Entourée d’un parc, elle domine le locle, haut lieu de l’horlogerie suisse.
LE SOLEIL D'OR - L'ART DE RELIER LE PASSÉ AU PRÉSENT
Une élégante galerie d’acier et de verre est établie sur l’ancienne terrasse. Aux limites du parc, dont l’harmonie et la sérénité ont été soigneusement préservées, une construction moderne aux lignes épurées accueille les ateliers de la manufacture.

CHRISTOPHE CLARET
As a child living in Lyon, Christophe Claret enjoyed dismantling and reassembling watch movements. At sixteen, he entered the watch school in geneva, after which he trained with a cabinotier, a specialist in complications. When he began working for himself, he restored watches for collectors and made his first movements. At the 1987 basle fair, he landed an important contract for minute-repeater movements with jacks; he then set up his own company.

When he has an idea for a movement, Christophe Claret is inspired by both the heritage of the client brand and his own boundless capacity for innovation. He oversees every stage of the project, from the initial idea to the final inspection. He and the client decide together whether his work for the brand should remain confidential or not.

Harry Winston, "jeweler to the stars", took the desire for the exceptional and the pursuit of beauty to new heights. Now, by creating the Opus collection Harry Winston Rare Timepieces (an exclusive model produced in a very limited series each year), his successors have applied the brand's long-standing values to the world of watchmaking. Designer and creator of the movement for 2004, Christophe Claret has produced an extremely exclusive and complicated watch with exquisite workmanship and finishing.
The Opus 4 movement has two faces which, thanks to a rotation system on the bracelet, are completely reversible.
The technical face reveals a tourbillon with an hour, quarter and minute repeater with a cathedral gong. Its "romantic" face has a hand-engraved 18K white gold large moon-phase indicator and a date.
This exceptional timepiece has 423 parts, including 40 sapphires, all of which are assembled by one watchmaker. The cathedral gong has a sonorous and solemn timbre and has been patiently tuned with a file and by ear. It makes two revolutions of the movement rather than the usual one. The large size (44 mm) of the platinum case makes an ideal sound-box for the cathedral gongs.

Everything starts with a blank page, an idea. Then come the design and construction work, the plans for the manufacturing and assembling, and the meticulous logistical organisation and numerous inspections that accompany the development of the movement to the production stage. Rather than make a prototype, Christophe Claret goes straight into production with a movement which then becomes the first of the series.

The movements are assembled in several small workshops, each housing four to seven horlogers-rhabilleurs, the cream of the profession. During their first three to twelve months at Christophe Claret, they learn skills and techniques that cannot be acquired elsewhere.

THE MANUFACTURE - DANS LE CERCLE RESTREINT DES VÉRITABLES MANUFACTURES D'HORLOGERIE
To achieve complete independence, Christophe Claret built his own workshops on the grounds of Soleil d’or, where all the machining, finishing and assembling are done.
Even the electroplating, which is normally subcontracted, is done here. Extremely rare in the world of watchmaking, vertical integration is a distinctive feature of an authentic manufactory.

High-precision pieces, flawless mechanisms, and everything running like a dream, but much still remains before it becomes a true christophe claret movement !
The art of polishing, the interplay of materials and reflections, the finishing of surfaces and shapes, and the decorations, all give the movement its elegant splendour.
LE SOLEIL D'OR
The birthplace of movements of such rare complexity that they seem to harbour every horological secret. Soleil d’or was built by the famous danish watchmaker Urban Jürgensen for his grand-daughter. The treasures of the house have been preserved: the panelling and parquet floors made from noble woods and a massive stove with hand-painted tiles. Surrounded by gardens, the house overlooks le locle, a major swiss watchmaking centre.

An elegant steel and glass gallery has been built on the old terrace, while the workshops, whose harmony and serenity have been carefully preserved, have been housed in a modern, graceful building on the edge of the grounds.
